Programs: Trees for Non-profit, Faith-based Groups & Individuals
Thousands of trees have made their way to Tulsa, thanks to generous tree grant from the Apache Foundation. The Apache Foundation has awarded Up With Trees with a tree grant to give trees to non-profits, faith-based groups and government agencies during spring of 2012. The trees are also available to individuals for a donation.
NON-PROFIT and FAITH-BASED GROUPS: Tree distribution will begin February 15th and continue throughout the spring at a PSO substation located on the west bank of the Arkansas River, 3600 S. Elwood. Available pick up dates on our calendar, and are generally Wednesdays and Saturdays from Noon-2pm, while trees are available. Please click here for a MAP to the Tree Pickup Site located at 3600 S. UWT has given away close to 45,000 3-gallon trees to date, thanks to continued support from the Apache Foundation. This program is made possible by the Apache Foundation’s nationwide tree-planting initiative. “They’ve had a tremendous impact on Tulsa’s tree canopy already, and we are excited to partner with them again,” America said. In the earlier giveaways, many organizations across Green Country have taken part in the program, including churches, private schools, local governments and non-profits. The free tree program gives a big boost to the ReGreen Tulsa effort, a partnership among Up With Trees, the City of Tulsa and the Tulsa Community Foundation geared toward replacing trees lost in the devastating 2007 ice storm.
Additionally, Up With Trees is offering the following additional services in exchange for donations within the Tulsa area.
TREE DELIVERY: 50 trees for a donation of $100 per load
PLANTING, MULCHING, 1-TIME WATERING: $25/tree, 10 tree minimum
PLANTING, MULCHING, 1-TIME WATERING, STAKING: $35/tree, 10 tree minimum
1-YEAR OF TREE WATERING SERVICES: Assessed based on logistics of location, space, etc.
Please call (918) 610-TREE (8733) for more information about these services.

Thanks to the Apache Foundation’s Tree Grant Program, Tulsa and surrounding area organizations have been able to plant trees on their properties that have not only enhanced their landscapes, but provide shade, clean particulates from the air, produce oxygen, harbor birds and other wildlife, reduce noise, store carbon, and prohibit soil erosion. Friends and volunteers of Up With Trees know the countless health benefits trees can give back; alone, just one tree can extract as much as 1 ton of CO₂ from the atmosphere. “Properly planted trees can play vital roles in saving costs on utilities and grounds maintenance, in addition to the aesthetic improvement they provide. We are thankful to both Apache Foundation and the volunteers who help make this opportunity possible,” America said.
Fruit trees are also available. Up With Trees will host a fruit tree care class and distribute 3-gallon fruit trees on Saturday, April 9, kicking off with a class at 9 a.m. Interested individuals may attend the class with a $20 donation, and take home 2 fruit trees of their choice (based on availability, first come first served).
* These trees are not intended to be distributed to individuals or to be planted on commercial property.
