Get Involved: Become a Citizen Forester

The Up With Trees Citizen Forester program is an exciting curriculum for Tulsans who are interested in learning or enhancing arboricultural knowledge and skills. Citizen Foresters receive 16 hours of training with Tulsa’s top arborists, learning how to identify tree species, plant and maintain trees as well as promote urban forestry awareness and education.

Program graduates will become part of a volunteer corps that will plant, maintain, prune and inventory trees in parks and other locations as well as reach out to the community to at fairs and other outreach opportunities. Join us as we beautify our community and contribute to public health; our next available Citizen Forester session will be hosted on 4 Saturday mornings, beginning October 6th, 2012 at our facility located at 11th & Boston.

Curriculum: The “P’s of Trees” Citizen Forester classes will be held at our location at 1102 S. Boston just south of downtown Tulsa on the southwest corner. All classes will be taught by certified professionals including local collegiate faculty and city and extension officials.
